For stainless steel practitioners, it is very important to know stainless steel. Because of the high value of stainless steel, a few defects can cause major losses. How should an enterprise determine that it is a genuine product during the inspection, and how to distinguish whether the product is defective? Generally speaking, it can be confirmed by the label of the stainless steel itself.
1. Outer packaging of stainless steel coil
Stainless steel outer packaging is the most intuitive way to identify stainless steel manufacturers. Generally speaking, the outer packaging color of each stainless steel plant is different. Through the outer packaging, not only the manufacturer can be identified, but the quality of the outer packaging and packaging requirements can also be used to see the steel mill’s emphasis on the product and the quality requirements.

Two, stainless steel coil packaging and packaging buckle
In order to distinguish itself from other products, the general stainless steel factory will distinguish every detail, so as to reflect its own characteristics everywhere. The packaging buckle of the steel coil is a prominent illustration. So, what information can we learn from the packaging buckle? We can know whether the packaging of the steel coil is the original package, whether the steel coil has been repackaged, etc., we can all know.

Three, stainless steel coil outer label
The outer label of the stainless steel coil is the most basic and common “steel coil manual” for us to know the information about the steel coil.
1. Grade: The most basic information for distinguishing the type of stainless steel; the form of the grade (national standard, European standard, Japanese standard, etc.) must match the production standard.
2. Card number: usually called the coil number, it is the unique identification number for identifying and distinguishing steel coils. Each steel coil has a different coil number, which is the “ID number” of the steel coil.
3. Production standard: It is a manifestation of what standard the steel coil is produced in accordance with; it corresponds to the grade of the steel coil.
4. Specifications: Each steel plant has different specifications for this item, and we need to understand them one by one. Generally speaking, label specifications are represented by such as 4.00*1250*C. Among them, “4.00” is the “label thickness” of the steel coil, which is different from the reference thickness; “1500” is the actual width of the steel coil; “C” represents the length, indicating that the actual length of the steel coil in the sample is not marked.
5. Gross weight: the actual weight of the entire roll. The function of gross weight is mainly used for transportation weight, which is convenient and reasonable for transportation and loading;
6. Net weight: One of the important information about steel coils is the important information used for buying and selling steel coils. Experienced practitioners can learn more information from the difference between gross weight and net weight, such as whether the roll uses spacer paper or not.
7. Edge: Whether the roll is burred or trimmed is reflected here; most (not all) can be determined by the width in the specifications.
8. Date: Steel coils have no shelf life. It seems that this date has no effect, but it is not. This date can indicate a lot of information. The phased production of steel plants is different, which can be known by the date of the label.
9. Heat number: Different from the steel coil number, the heat number is not unique; in some warehouses, it is not correct to use it as storage information because it is convenient to record the heat number.
10. Reference thickness: One of the important information of steel coils is one of the bases of steel coil trading information, which is the actual thickness of steel coils.
11. Surface: One of the important information of the coil is the reflection of the degree of surface processing of the coil; through the surface information, we can distinguish whether the steel coil is a hot-rolled coil or a cold-rolled coil, and what degree of processing the surface has reached.
12. Grade: It can be distinguished whether the grade of steel coil is first grade, second grade, or other grades.

Four, measurement list
The metering list is usually installed in the inner tube package and can be found through the gap of the inner tube package interface.
The measurement sheet records the basic information of the roll and has more information than the label, and a series of information about the weight.
The measurement sheet can be used to identify the information of the steel coil when the coil label is damaged or lost.
Five, stainless steel coil inner label
The label inside the stainless coil, as the name implies, is the label inside the steel coil. After the outer packaging of the roll is opened, such labels will be affixed on the head and tail. The outer label and measurement sheet may be damaged or lost due to long storage and multiple transportations of the roll. At this time, the inner label becomes the only manual for the roll!
