Different Between 304L and 304 Grade Stainless Steel

No.1 finish has been annealed and pickled (acid washed) to remove the dark oxide scale, resulting in a matte, silver-white appearance with high corrosion resistance. Black coil retains the oxide scale from the hot-rolling process and is typically used for further re-rolling or applications where the surface will be sandblasted or treated later.
Can I use 3.0mm hot rolled 304 instead of cold rolled 304?
