304 stainless steel (UNS S30400 / EN 1.4301) is a widely used austenitic alloy with a balanced combination of corrosion resistance, strength, and formability. Its lower carbon version, 4304L (UNS S30403 / EN 1.307), is preferred for applications requiring extensive welding or minimized risk of intergranular corrosion.
