316L/316 cold rolled stainless steel coil is an austenitic chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel known for its superior corrosion resistance, particularly against chlorides, acids, and marine environments. The addition of 2-3% molybdenum provides significantly better pitting resistance than 304 stainless steel.
As a leading 316L stainless steel coil manufacturer in China, Huaxiao Metal supplies cold rolled coils in thicknesses from 0.2mm to 8.0mm, with EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificate included as standard. We serve manufacturers across Europe, South America, and 40+ countries worldwide.

Applications of 316L / 316 Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Coil
316L / 316 stainless steel coils are widely used in industries requiring high corrosion resistance:
Chemical processing equipment
Marine and offshore structures
Heat exchangers and pressure vessels
Pharmaceutical and food processing equipment
Architectural decoration and cladding
Medical instruments and cleanroom facilities
If your project involves corrosive environments or strict hygiene requirements, 316L stainless steel coil is an ideal choice.

Key Features of 316L / 316 Stainless Steel
Corrosion Resistance
316 has better Corrosion resistance than 304 stainless steel, and in the pulp and paper production process, it has good corrosion resistance. And 316 stainless steel is also resistant to the erosion of the oceans and the aggressive industrial atmosphere.
Heat Resistance
coil 316l has good oxidation resistance for intermittent use below 871 ° C (1600 ° F) and continuous use above 927 ° C (1700 ° F). It is best not to continuously use 316 stainless steel in the range of 427 ° C- 857 ° C (800 ° F-1575 ° F). Still, stainless steel possesses excellent heat resistance when 316 stainless steel is continuously used outside this temperature range. 316L stainless steel carbide precipitation performance is better than 316 stainless steel, available in the above temperature range.
Heat Treatment
Annealing is performed at a temperature in the range of 850-1050 ° C, followed by rapid annealing and rapid cooling. 316 stainless steel cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
316 SS Welding Performance
316 SS with good welding performance. All standard welding methods can be used for welding. Welding can be used according to the purpose, respectively 316Cb, 316L, or 309Cb stainless steel filler rods or welding electrodes. To obtain the best corrosion resistance, the welded section of 316 stainless steel needs to be annealed after welding. If 316L stainless steel is used, no post-weld annealing is required.
These properties make 316L cold rolled stainless steel coil a preferred material for demanding industrial applications.
