What is 310 Stainless Steel (EN 1.4841, UNS S31000)?
310 stainless steel is an austenitic chromium-nickel alloy known for its excellent resistance to oxidation, sulfidation, and high-temperature scaling. Containing approximately 25% chromium and 20% nickel, the alloy maintains excellent structural integrity in high-temperature environments up to 1100°C (2012°F).
It maintains strength and toughness even after prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures, making it ideal for manufacturing furnace components, burners, heat-treating baskets, and kilns. However, due to its high carbon content, 310 may be more susceptible to sensitization and intergranular corrosion in certain applications.

310S stainless steel is the low-carbon version of 310, offering improved weldability and reduced risk of carbide precipitation during high-temperature welding or prolonged exposure.
