Australia makes its first anti-dumping sunset review final ruling on Chinese wire rod

On April 12, 2021, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2021/032 stating that the Australian Minister of Industry and Technology accepted the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission’s first anti-dumping sunset review recommendation on wire rod imported from China and decided Starting from April 23, 2021, anti-dumping measures will continue to be imposed on the products involved in the case in China, and anti-dumping duties will be levied by a combination of fixed and variable tax rates. The dumping margin for all Chinese exporters is 33.1%. Hot rolled rebar (5143, 81.00, 1.60%) ribs and stainless steel coils are not applicable to the anti-dumping measures in this case. The Australian customs codes of the products involved are 7213.91.00.44 and 7227.90.90.02.

On August 12, 2015, Australia initiated an anti-dumping investigation on wire rod imported from China. On April 22, 2016, Australia made an affirmative final anti-dumping ruling on the products involved in the case imported from China. On July 27, 2020, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2020/077, stating that in response to an application submitted by the Australian company InfraBuild (Newcastle) Pty Ltd, the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation was initiated on wire rods imported from China.
