Turkey’s imports of ss coils increased year-on-year in January
According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported nearly 70,000 tons of ss coils in January 2021, up from 52,000 tons in the same period last year.
Among them, China is the largest supplier, with an output of about 27,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of more than twice. South Korea ranked second with an output of about 23,000 tons, an increase of 18% year-on-year, while the EU’s supply fell sharply during the same period.
In 2020, Turkey imported about 164,000 tons of stainless steel coils from China. Due to the competitive price, it has soared by more than 50% compared with 2019.
