JISCO Steel was founded in 1958 and is a national key construction project during the ¡°First Five-Year Plan period. It is also the fourth steel joint enterprise planned and constructed by the state after Angang, Wuhan Iron and Steel, and Baotou Steel. Since the establishment of the plant, JISCO Steel has gone through a difficult and bumpy construction process, with iron production in 1970, steel production in 1985, and material production in 1987. JISCO Iron and Steel’s main products include two series of carbon steel and stainless steel. The main products include carbon steel series of high-speed wire rods, high-speed bars, medium and thick plates, hot-rolled coils, cold-rolled sheets, and stainless steel series of hot-rolled coils. Hundreds of varieties such as cold rolled sheets. JISCO has passed the ISO9001: 2000 quality management system and ISO14001 environmental management system certification, and the physical and chemical inspections have passed the national laboratory accreditation. Welding rod welding wire steel, pressure vessel steel, bridge steel, pipeline steel, container steel, automotive structural steel, cold-rolled base materials, and other products enjoy a wide reputation in the domestic and foreign markets. Products have entered the Yangtze River Three Gorges, Yellow River Xiaolangdi Hydropower Station, Qinghai-Tibet Railway, Beijing Olympic Stadium, Northwest Wind Power Base, high-speed railway project, and other national key construction projects.
Stepping into the new century, JISCO Steel has put forward a scientific development idea to lay a “century foundation” around the realization of healthy, coordinated, and sustainable development of the enterprise. Diversified developments related to the main steel business, vigorously expanded the metallurgical industry chain, and the non-steel industry created unique advantages with unique characteristics, and actively cultivated continued growth points.
